What is BBA-P?

The BBA-P is a grouping of business people and other expatriates in Phuket whose primary goals are to exchange business information, network, promote Anglo-Thai relations, to support selected charities and to support the promotion of tourism and other beneficial developments in Phuket.

 

The Association was formed in the middle of 1998 and offers members and their guests a wide range of activities and benefits which include:

 

- Monthly social meetings
- Regular Dinner evenings with speakers
- Sponsored charity events
- Sporting Events and Activities
- Opportunities to exchange business information
- Discounts for members at selected establishments in Phuket
- Associate membership of the British Chamber of Commerce, Bangkok


Membership

 

Membership currently stands at over 70 members. Membership is open to all nationalities, and currently includes  US, Australian, Canadian as well as British. It is just as popular with part-time residents and retirees as it is with those in employment or business. For more information contact the Hon Sec

 

Achievements

 

- Since its foundation, the members have raised over Bt2,000,000 through the annual Charity Golf Day, which has

  been donated to a variety of causes with include underprivileged children and elderly people in Phuket.

- Increase of the membership to over 70
- Recognition by the BCCT (British Chamber of Commerce in Thailand) in Bangkok
- A variety of social and networking events throughout Phuket
- Sponsorship of the British Embassy Pub Nights in Bangkok.

 - Provided immediate assistance to the British Embassy Emergency Relief Centre after the tsunami.

 

 

Charity Golf Day

 

The largest event in the BBA-P calendar is the BBA-P Annual Charity Golf Day. This, held in conjunction with the Blue Canyon Country Club attracts over 30 sponsors and 125 players. It is now recognised as one of the major Golfing events in Phuket and has currently raised over Bt2 million for Phuket charities.

To expand membership.
To provide an opportunity for members to network within Phuket’s expatriate and Thai community.
To promote the development of the Phuket tourist industry.
To further promote Anglo-Thai relations within the Phuket community.
To maintain and develop links with the British Embassy, Bangkok.
To facilitate the exchange of business information and to promote business opportunities in Phuket.
To maintain close social and business links with the British Chamber of Commerce, Bangkok.
To develop links or affiliations with other trade or business groups worldwide.
To promote social and sporting activities.
